British heating and cooling equipment specialist Diffusion is celebrating its Modular Highline 275 fan coil range sweeping the board by reaching the final in seven different prestigious awards. Officially launched in May 2025, the Modular Highline 275 has achieved a shortlisting in every award it has been entered in. The Modular Highline 275 expands Diffusion’s award-winning modular range of fan coil units to offer a new, higher-capacity option, providing airflows up to 514l/s. This ensures that even large-scale spaces, such as hotels, receptions, and offices, can benefit from the range’s modular design.
The new Modular Highline 275 Range has been shortlisted in the London Construction Awards, the National Sustainability Awards, the BESA Awards, the H&V News Awards, and the HVR Awards, in seven different categories. The range has been recognised by the award schemes for both its sustainability credentials and product innovation, highlighting the Modular Highline 275’s advanced components that deliver low sound levels, reduced energy consumption, and optimal performance.

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted in seven categories across five different awards for our new Modular Highline 275 fan coil range. The range is almost endlessly configurable, and offers quiet, high-performance and energy-efficient heating and cooling for the perfect indoor environment,” said Alexis Roberts, Channel Marketing Manager at Diffusion. “This innovative addition to our Modular Highline fan coil range offers a wider choice of sizes to our customers to ensure there is a solution for even more projects. Add to that its improved performance and ease of servicing and maintenance, its new side-specific access, and multiple sustainability benefits, and this latest addition to the range is a winner!”
The Modular Highline 275’s sustainability credentials caught the judging panels’ eyes at both the London Construction Awards and National Sustainability Awards, being shortlisted in the Excellence in Sustainability and Green Energy Product categories respectively. Using CIBSE TM65 methodology, Diffusion has calculated the Modular Highline 275’s embodied carbon at a component level, ensuring full environmental transparency. (Diffusion was the first fan coil manufacturer to complete CIBSE TM65 documents for all its fan coils). Diffusion is now working towards attaining Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Furthermore, the range’s high-efficiency EC motor and fan assemblies provide new and improved Specific Fan Powers (SFP) as low as 0.12 W/l/s, reducing overall building energy consumption, and Diffusion’s Lifetime ‘Eco’ wire mesh filter eliminates the use of disposable filters.
Diffusion’s product innovation and development have also been recognized by the award schemes, including the prestigious BESA Awards, where the Modular Highline 275 range has been shortlisted in the product innovation category. In addition, the range has nominations for Commercial HVAC Product of the Year in both the cooling technology and heating categories at the H&V News Awards and for Commercial/Industrial Product of the Year and Air Conditioning Product of the Year at the HVR Awards.
Innovation is at the heart of everything Diffusion does. Its latest design enhancements are a direct result of its close relationships with its customers and a deep understanding of their project requirements. The development of the higher capacity Highline 275 allows the modular range to be installed in a wider range of projects; however, despite higher airflows, the new fan coil units still offer exceedingly low sound levels. Delivering noise ratings as low as NR25 ensures their suitability for a variety of applications where quiet operation is critical, such as offices, residential applications, and hotels. Plus, the Modular Highline 275 range provides increased performance due to heat exchangers specifically designed to achieve optimum heating and cooling performance using industry-predominant hot water and chilled water temperatures.

Developed for performance and practicality, Diffusion’s Modular Highline 275 reflects the expertise of the company’s dedicated in-house design team. Every element has been carefully considered to improve performance while ensuring easy service and maintenance, even in confined spaces. The Highline 275 range comprises eight models, including 13 sizes, providing specifiers with greater flexibility and eliminating the need to over-specify, ensuring the ideal product for each project. Demonstrating Diffusion’s commitment to continuous improvement, another new development is the introduction of specific side access to the fans. This new design feature simplifies service and maintenance, particularly where services are located in ceilings, which prevent access to fan coil units from below. The new side access enables the maintenance of the fans simply by sliding them to the side. Variants for both the Highline 275 and Highline 235 ranges are available with side removal access to the fans, ensuring accessibility even in restrictive installations.
Diffusion’s Highline 275 range’s modular design delivers ultimate flexibility, enabling attenuator and plenum options to be easily configured to suit the application. Design options are almost limitless as the Highline 275 is completely customizable with over 300,000 configurations allowing customers to choose the fan coil that fits their individual design. This is of particular importance to buildings that have a change of use, as the units can be re-configured on-site to suit the new purpose of the building and new configuration, this saves purchasing new models which is costly and wasteful – a significant sustainability benefit.
Designed with aesthetics in mind, The Modular Highline 275 is an attractive solution for architects that require a ceiling exposed solution, as well as those that prefer ceiling concealed units. Featuring excellent build quality, the new Highline 275 range is built to last with a galvanised steel chassis for increased durability.
Meanwhile, Diffusion’s Lifetime ‘Eco’ wire mesh filter is supplied as standard with the Modular Highline range. This option provides a robust, environmentally conscious solution that can be vacuum cleaned in situ, by opting for the Lifetime ‘Eco’ filter eliminates approximately three synthetic filters a year going to landfill. Alternatively, ISO grade media filters can be supplied. The filters can be easily removed on-site from either the side of the unit or beneath the unit. The filters on the larger models are split into two or more parts, making them easy to remove or clean, this is particularly beneficial when the unit is installed in confined or awkward spaces.
